This teacup features a spotted mandarin fish swimming gracefully through a lotus pond. Delicate cobalt brushwork captures its scales, fins, eyes, and distinctive markings, bringing a vivid sense of movement to the composition.
The classic Ruyi-inspired form features a gently flared rim, softly curved body, and neat foot ring. Fired at over 1300°C, the porcelain has a refined body and smooth, jade-like glaze, balancing delicate artistry with everyday function.

A mandarin fish moves through the lotus pond, carrying quiet blessings within blue and white.
Rather than pursuing elaborate decoration, Huashan draws from traditional Chinese auspicious imagery, bringing together the mandarin fish, lotus pond, and Ruyi-inspired form.
In Chinese, gui (鳜) in mandarin fish echoes gui (贵), meaning prosperity and distinction, while yu (鱼), meaning fish, echoes yu (余), meaning abundance or surplus.
The Ruyi-inspired silhouette adds another layer of meaning, traditionally expressing the wish that life may unfold according to one’s hopes.
Motif and form come together naturally—a fish for abundance, gui for prosperity, and Ruyi for fulfillment.
