Description
Inspired by the classic Rongtian (“Capacity of Heaven”) silhouette—traditionally modeled after the generous, rounded form of the Laughing Buddha—this teapot features a broad, full belly that symbolizes open-mindedness, harmony, and inner peace. The porcelain body is hand-painted in rich underglaze cobalt blue, depicting lush lotus leaves overflowing with ink-wash depth and pure white lotus blossoms unfolding gracefully. Handcrafted in Jingdezhen, its compact short spout and ergonomic loop handle ensure a smooth, confident pour, making it both a visually serene centerpiece and a functional brewing vessel for tea connoisseurs.

This piece brings together the meditative form of the Rongtian Teapot and the pure elegance of the lotus. Inspired by Maitreya Buddha’s generous form and his capacity to embrace all things, the rounded vessel embodies openness, tolerance, and the wisdom that blessings follow a spacious heart.
A master artisan of Huashan Zhuoyin uses pure cobalt-blue pigment and Jingdezhen’s refined fenshui shading technique to preserve the vitality of a summer lotus pond upon porcelain. Layers of blue-and-white lotus leaves unfold like expressive ink washes, setting off the pristine white blossoms with serene and graceful beauty.
Its generous body seems to hold the world, while a single infusion clears the mind of worldly dust. As hot water swirls within the teapot and fragrant steam rises, tea becomes more than a pleasure of taste—it becomes a meditative moment of tranquility, openness, and inner harmony.
